Cryopreservation of Serbian autochthonous plum ‘Crvena Ranka’ using aluminium cryo-plates

?Crvena Ranka? is one of the oldest autochthonous plum cultivars in Serbia. However, it endangered due to long-term pathogen pressure and continuous suppression by commercially important therefore faced with genetic erosion. This study was carried out investigate suitability two efficient simple cryopreservation methods using aluminium cryo-plates for its conservation. Precultured shoot tips this genotype were embedded alginate gel into wells. Osmoprotection performed loading solution 1.9 M glycerol 0.5 sucrose (30 min at room temperature). In V cryo-plate protocol, explants dehydrated temperature 20 or 40 PVS A3 (37.5% glycerol, 15% dimethylsulfoxide, ethylene glycol 22.5% sucrose) PVS3 (50% 50% 60 min.
